From Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture, a town famous for its pottery. He mainly creates series of "bronze" pieces that have the texture of excavated goods, and "white clay color" pieces that resemble the walls of ruins. He also creates many series with strong sculptural elements.
Many of his works have a strong attention to color and texture, and are unique in that they have a distinctive appearance like excavated goods. Many of his vessels are lightweight, making them suitable for everyday use.
